  • 9 Rottweilers is an original oil painting by Holly Frean, recently completed and arranged as a 3 x 3 grid of individual studies. Each portrait presents a distinctive Rottweiler head against a richly saturated ground -cobalt, saffron, blush and deep oxblood - allowing the depth of the black and warm tan markings to resonate. • 16 Pugs is an original oil painting by Holly Frean, arranged as a composed 4 x 4 grid of individual panels. Against a cool lilac-grey ground, each pug appears with its unmistakable architecture - rounded forehead, compressed muzzle, steady gaze - rendered with direct, economical brushwork. The repetition gives this work structure and visual weight, while subtle differences in tilt and expression introduce personality. Exclusively at Shop Kit Kemp.

  • In Horse & Hound I, we spy a running hound within a circular field of green and earth tones, the format lending the scene a contained, almost medallion-like quality. Painted in oil with fluid, visible strokes, Holly Frean's dog stretches forward in full motion, with extended limbs and an elongated body, while the gesture of a horse gallops off the top edge of the panel. High energy is balanced by clarity of form and a confident economy of paint, giving the piece a sense of immediacy without excess.

  • A horizontal format allows this hound’s body to stretch fully into its stride. Painted in oil with brisk, visible strokes, the dog runs low across a sweep of green landscape, its lean form cutting cleanly through the field. A darker silhouette above hints at the presence of a horse without fully resolving it, creating a layered sense of space and pace. The narrow proportions emphasise speed and direction, while the restrained palette keeps the composition grounded. Exclusively at Shop Kit Kemp.

  • Greyhound focuses on the unmistakable outline of a sighthound’s profile, stretched across a long, narrow panel. Set against a deep green ground, this pale form feels self-contained, with just enough detail to suggest character without overstatement. The simplicity of the composition gives it a quiet strength. If it has caught your eye once, it will likely do so again - an understated work that brings a sense of kindness and presence to its surroundings. Exclusively at Shop Kit Kemp.

  • Sausage Dog plays with proportion, the long, narrow format stretching to accommodate the dachshund’s already improbable outline, or perhaps the dog has obligingly extended herself to fit the panel. The slight exaggeration gives the piece its rhythm, turning a familiar form into something subtly graphic and considered. Her expression is alert, a touch wide-eyed, as if caught mid-thought rather than mid-stride. At this scale the painting feels deliberate, and quietly distinctive. Holly Frean for Shop Kit Kemp
